Make Each Step Count

Walk with us virtually on

October 3, 2020

At the end of life, every moment counts. Hospice of Southern Maine provides compassionate, comfort-focused care to ensure our patients are pain-free and can live their best life, even at the end of life.

Hospice of Southern Maine invites the public to participate in its inaugural Hike for Hospice fundraising event. All are welcome and participants can walk as individuals, teams, or families. Many participants choose to partake in remembrance of loved ones who have been touched by hospice or to honor someone who provides care to hospice patients. Hike for Hospice is a fundraiser to benefit Hospice of Southern Maine’s Gosnell Memorial Hospice House and Home Hospice Program

Hike for Hospice

Date: Saturday, October 3 - 31, 2020

Location: Virtual livestream kickoff on October 3rd

Hospice of Southern Maine invites the public to get creative with your hike and participate virtually in the inaugural Hike for Hospice fundraising event. Hike for Hospice is a fundraiser to benefit Hospice of Southern Maine’s Gosnell Memorial Hospice House and Home Hospice Program.

Participating virtually allows you to choose your own route! Perhaps you will walk in your favorite neighborhood, on a treadmill, at the beach or even up a mountain! You have the flexibility and convenience of walking or hiking at any time, at your own pace, and a distance that's good for you. No matter what, you're supporting a great cause and your support makes all the difference.

T-shirts and your choice of a mask or neck buff will be mailed to the first 200 participants.  Wear your Hike for Hospice T-shirt and mask/neck buff on your hike route of your choice and share with all.

Virtual Hike

Participate in a virtual hike in support of Hospice of Southern Maine! With a virtual hike, you choose the location, time and distance of your walk.

Here are a few ideas for your virtual hike:

  • Walk 2,000 (1-mile) or 7,000 (5K) steps on your favorite beach

  • Join a friend and walk your favorite route... socially distanced of course!

  • Walk on your treadmill, ride a stationary bike, or hop on your rowing machine and record your distance

  • Don't forget Fido! Walk with your pet in their favorite spot

Get creative and share your experience by posting photos and videos to your personal fundraising page. Make each step count and share your experience with everyone!

This is your chance to Hike for Hospice on your very own route. The opportunity to fundraise and participate virtually has been extended to October 31, 2020.
