At Hospice of Southern Maine, our mission is to provide compassion, care and comfort through end of life to terminally-ill patients and their families. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, grief counselors, and volunteers wherever the patient resides, whether that is their home, assisted living facility, or hospital. If a person's condition can no longer be managed at home, they may be moved to Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, our 18-bed inpatient hospice facility, to receive around-the-clock care. Unlike most other hospice programs, we offer free grief counseling to all members of the community, regardless of whether their loved one died in our care. HSM serves any terminally-ill adult in need of hospice services, regardless of their personal resources, Medicare or Medicaid status, or lack of private insurance. Call us today to learn whether hospice is right for you and your family.
